To enable her to take part in the double-handed round-the-world stage race, the Globe 40, Ox Eye took part in the modification of Class 40 number 61, Zahia, to certify her in Category 0 and bring her up to date with the Class 40 rules.

The work was carried out at Nath Yachting in Hennebont, where the composite work and technical assistance were provided.

Ox Eye drew up the plans for two watertight bulkheads and added 2m3 of unsinkability foam to comply with the Class 40 rules.

The calculations were used to check the integrity of the boat’s structure following the addition of the extra structure and to verify the boat’s stability and righting following the addition of structural weights.
